Built in 1926, the Old Woodbine School was utilized as both elementary and high schools for hundreds of students from Camden County until it was closed in 1992. The Old School Renovation Committee was formed in 2001 for the purpose of saving this building and holds the management agreement with Camden County. Through their efforts a special tax fund was initiated by Camden County and in 2008 renovations were begun on the Old School. Now it serves as the Camden Community Center, home of The Woodbine Opry every Friday and Saturday nights, and the All School Alumni Reunion held annually during the Crawfish Festival.
Your donations to help in the restoration of this much-loved Woodbine landmark are greatly appreciated and your support of the Woodbine Opry will help us restore our favorite school to its former glory.
Thanks to everyone for all their help and support—there’s still much that needs to be done.
It’s a good thing we’re doing here!
